LONDON INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL

London, England – United Kingdom
April 11 to 22, 2013

UPCOMING DEADLINE
November 30, 2012 – Regular Deadline

The London Independent Film Festival is committed to the independent filmmaker, giving special attention to films by first- and second-time directors, films shot with budgets under £100,000, and quality films that, for whatever reason, are unlikely to receive distribution through other channels.

The 10th Annual London Independent Film Festival (LIFF), is perfect a showcase of great micro-budget and no-budget independent films taking place in the bustling city of London, England. Proving that great creative works can be developed without the benefit of big financial backers, LIFF gives special attention to films by first- and second-time directors, and films shot with budgets of $200,000 USD or less.

MISSION AND OBJECTIVE
LIFF is committed to the independent filmmaker and offers special attention to the screening of films by first- and second-time directors, as well as to films shot with small or no budgets.

MORE ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
LIFF offers a broad array of competitive categories, including documentary, sci-fi/horror, LGBT, short screenplay, music video, and animated short, to name just a few. Filmmakers will also enjoy having their works screened at two of the city’s best theaters – the Roxy and the Shortwave – and can be assured of a film and festival experience that’s second to none. The London Independent Film Festival is eager to welcome you for 12 incredible, film-fueled days along the south bank of the Thames; for your chance to take part in this one-of-a-kind showcase, submit your film or script today!
The festival has a reputation for celebrating remarkable works that might otherwise have slipped under the radar. Time Out Magazine has called LIFF “a treasure trove of undiscovered film gems, [and] one of Europe’s top indie film fests.” All selected films will be considered for Jury and Audience Awards, with the winners announced at the Closing Night “It’s a Wrap” party. LIFF also offers a popular screenwriting competition and an array of fascinating training workshops for filmmakers, as well as opportunities for visitors to network, establish connections, and plan future collaborations.

In-competition filmmakers enjoy generous accommodations and international transportation packages, festival passes, and party invites, plus the opportunity to meet representatives from many UK distributors, sales and talent agencies, and production companies. Several micro-budget films which premiered at LIFF, including Beyond the Fire and The Liberty of Norton Folgate, were picked up for UK distribution and went on to successful theatrical releases after the festival.
