VISIONFEST

New York City, New York – USA
June 26 to 30, 2013

UPCOMING DEADLINE
February 15, 2013 – Regular Deadline

MISSION AND OBJECTIVE
VISIONFEST encourages and promotes domestic filmmaking and champions opportunities for the American filmmaker at home and abroad.

The 13th Annual VISIONFEST is celebrating the extraordinary ingenuity of the American auteur. Films featured at VISIONFEST are created by American filmmakers, ensuring a festival where great, home-grown works aren’t lost in a sea of international product. Offering exciting filmmaker Q&As and after-parties, VISIONFEST nurtures networking opportunities that last well beyond the five-day festival and brings the best of American talent to the forefront of the indie New York film scene.

In addition to its filmmaking categories, the VISIONFEST competition includes opportunities for screenwriters to have their works recognized through entry in the VISIONFEST Screenwriting Competition. This year’s VISIONFEST also marks the inaugural year of The Visionary Film Artists’ Collective Project, which invites students of accredited New York City schools to submit proposals for 15-minute projects to be bolstered by artistic grants.

No matter your experience or your artistic interests, VISIONFEST offers plenty of ways to celebrate and strengthen your creative instincts. Submit to VISIONFEST today!

Films selected for VISIONFEST are strategically programmed into entertaining and often thematically connected programming blocks that amplify audience and jury experience. Festival honors-including the Domani Vision Award for Emerging Talent-are presented on the final evening of the festival and serve to enhance the recipients’ prestige and potential on the festival circuit. Just ask VISIONFEST winner Graham Robinson, whose celebrated film, Able Edwards, picked up for extended festival runs by Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh.
